Ida Mae Syster

Ida Mae Syster, 71, of Penn Run, PA., passed away on Monday, November 18, 2019.

She was the daughter of Clarence C. and Clara June (Gibson) Syster, born May 29, 1948 in Indiana, PA.

Ida was employed by St. Andrew’s Village for many years.  She also provided housekeeping services for many individuals within the community.  Ida was a member of the Independent Country Church.  She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and making beautiful gifts for her friends and family.  She also enjoyed working in her garden and family picnics at the farm.

She is survived by seven brothers and sisters, Lois M. Park and husband Gerald of Penn Run, Carl R. Syster of Clymer, Wilda J. Overdorff and husband William of Brush Valley, Virginia G. Ray and husband Thomas of Penn Run, Richard L. Syster and wife Iva of Indiana, Ilene Boughner and husband Donald of Penn Run and Ron Syster and wife Donna of Penn Run.

Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

Ida was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Betty Syster and sister-in-law, Judy Syster.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 from 4 to 8 pm at the McCabe~Roof Funeral Home, 565 Franklin St., Clymer.  Ida’s funeral service will be on Thursday, at 11 am at the funeral home with Pastor Loren Marshall, officiating.  Interment will be made in the Manor Cemetery, Penn Run.
