Twila Laverick, 91, of Clymer, PA, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2019 at Beacon Ridge Nursing Home, Indiana, PA.
She was the daughter of Edgar A. and Hazel (Buterbaugh) Emigh, born on April 16, 1928 in Clymer, PA.
Twila graduated from Heilwood High School in 1946. Prior to retirement, she was the food service director at Penns Manor Area School District. Twila was a lifelong member of the Clymer United Methodist Church who was actively involved in church activities such as the choir, bazaar--making soup with her sister, Jean, and apple butter making. Twila enjoyed many activities with her family including traveling, going to the family camps, and trout fishing. The Christmas season was a truly special time of the year for Twila. She enjoyed baking Christmas cookies with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Christmas shopping, singing in the Christmas Eve Cantata, and listening to Christmas carols.
She will be lovingly remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister.
Twila is survived by three children, Jody Nichol and husband Bill of Commodore, Gregg Laverick and wife Lori (Ruben) of Indiana, Randy Laverick and wife DeAnna (Pontani) of Clymer, five grandchildren, Miranda (Nichol) Buterbaugh and husband Brad, Jerod Nichol and wife Kathy (Cramer) both of Commodore, Michael Laverick and wife Paula (Polenik) of Martinsburg, WV, Braden Laverick of San Antonio, TX and Alaina Laverick of Clymer, six great-grandchildren, Aliya, Addison, Tyler, Raena, Augustine, and Constantine, and one sister, Jean Jarvie of Clymer, and sister-in-law, Doreen Emigh of Meadville, PA. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 50 years, Wilbur J. Laverick who passed away on October 16, 2000. In addition, her brother, Carl Emigh and brother-in-law, Walt Jarvie.
Friends will be received on Friday, December 20, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the McCabe~Roof Funeral Home, 565 Franklin St., Clymer, PA. Additional visitation will be on Saturday at 9 am at the Clymer United Methodist Church, with her funeral service to follow at 10 am. Interment will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana.
