Alma “Nonna” Sgro, 85 of Indiana, has gone home with the Lord and our Dad on Monday, April 8, 2019 at Indiana Regional Medical Center.
A daughter of Edene and Ada (Lombardi) Venturini, she was born August 21, 1933 in Florence, Italy.
Alma was a member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church in Indiana. She worked at the former Campus Sports Wear. Alma loved bingo, casino trips, crocheting baby afghans and making vestments for the church. She was a loving wife, mother and Nonna.
She is survived by her children, Dominic and wife Jamie, Raymond and Lisa, Bernadette and Bill and Michael and wife Angela: grandchildren, Jillian and husband Tony, Joelyssa and husband Taylor, Danielle and JP, Michael and Sarah, Raymond , Alex and husband Jack, Michelle, Aden, Tyler and Zack; great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Jack, Ada, Ashley, Chelsea, Aria and Jace.
Also survived by brothers, Antonio Venturini and George Lombardi.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dominic “Mickey” Sgro, sister, Anna and Brothers, Mario and Jim.
Friends will be received on Thursday, April 11, 2019 from 4 pm to 8 pm with the praying of the rosary at 4 p.m. at the McCabe~Roof Funeral Home, 565 Franklin St., Clymer. Alma’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Friday at St. Thomas More University Parish, Indiana with Fr. Andres Gumangan as celebrant. Interment will be made in St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Indiana.
