Dennis K. Curtis, 62, of Indiana, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at Indiana Regional Medical Center, from a courageous battle with cancer.
Born January 28, 1964, in Indiana, he was the son of the late Howard William, Sr. and late Shirley Lucille (Petratos) Curtis.
Dennis attended school at Penns Manor Junior Senior High School and went on to work at various jobs throughout his life.
Dennis had an art for construction. He could build anything. He also enjoyed riding four wheelers. His passion was playing his drums whenever he could. He enjoyed talking with people, and had a love for dogs.
In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by two half-brothers, Howard W., Jr., of Pelion, SC, and George E., of Blairsville; one half-sister, Paula J. (Curtis) Ziegenfus, of Latrobe; and one brother-in-law, Randy G. Stewart, of Blairsville.
Dennis is survived by three sisters, Teri L. and husband Benjamin Murdick, of Clymer, Kimberley J. Stewart, of Homer City, and Tayna M. and husband Timothy Buterbaugh, of Creekside; one brother, Scott W. Curtis and wife Jennifer of Shelocta; one half-brother, James K., of Blairsville; one stepsister, Freida and husband Larry Glass, of Loyalhanna; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give many thanks to IRMC Emergency Room, ICU, Hospice, medical transporters, Acea and Marlin, and his entire medical team from the Hillman Cancer Center.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am., Saturday, May 9, 2026 with Evangelist Josiah Hoover officiating, at Victory Baptist Church, 139 East Wiley Street, Homer City, PA. Interment will be at the Blairsville Cemetery. Arrangements are being made through McCabe~Roof Funeral Home, 565 Franklin Street, Clymer, PA.
