Helen Oterson, 97 of Dixonville, PA., passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown, PA.
She was the daughter of Wasil and Helen (Turhan) Berezansky, born on March 8, 1928, in Pennfive, PA.
Helen was a member of the St. John’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Dixonville. She worked at Greensteel as a custodian for over 30 years. Helen was an avid baker, loved to cook, clean, crochet and paint. Family was her love and most of all her grandchildren.
She is survived by her four children, Darlene Ward and husband David, Stephanie Ferrara and husband David, Barbara McCullough and husband James, Jeffrey Oterson, and husband Jack, seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joseph Oterson and 12 siblings.
Friends will be received on Sunday, February 15, 2026, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm with a Parastas at 7:30 pm at the McCabe~Roof Funeral Home, 565 Franklin St. Clymer. Additional visitation will be held on Monday from 10 am to 11 am at St. John’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Dixonville, PA., with her Funeral Service at 11 am with Fr. James Cairns, celebrant. Interment will be in St. John’s cemetery, Dixonville.
All attending the visitation and funeral are asked to wear pink.
