On Thursday evening the world became a little less fun,
John Gaydosh, 93 of Clymer, a lifelong area resident, received a Christian ending to his life surrounded by family.
John was born September 15, 1930, in Commodore to Andy and Maria (Popik) Gaydosh.
He graduated from Green Township High School where he participated and loved sports. He continued to follow local area high school sports and attending games whenever he could. On any sunny day, you could find him on his John Deere mowing his grass or on his porch, where neighbors would stop and talk.
John married the love of his life, Lena Marie Sokoly, on October 15,1955 at St. Michael’s Orthodox Church in Clymer, spending a loving marriage that lasted 68 years. He was a founding member of Christ Our Savior Orthodox Church for over 20 years.
He was predeceased by his parents, his sisters, Mary Macek, Vera VanWert, Rosella Federinko, Ann Likavec, Marge Hostacky, Betty Bochar, also his brothers, Joseph (Wetsky), Andy and Mike.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Lena and daughters, Tamara (John) Suwolitch, Kim (Bobby) McCombs and thought of as a son, Bobby Macek.
Grandchildren, Lori McCombs, Jeremy Suwolitch, Chelsea Suwolitch, Reece McCombs, and great-grandchildren Dimitri, Anne, Talyn, Deacon and Maddy. The grandchildren that were also brought into his life, Adam, Matt, and Justice, who he loved as family also.
Also surviving is his brother, Edward Gaydosh of Commodore along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Sunday, February 18, 2024, from 2 pm to 8 pm with a Parastas service at 7 pm at the McCabe~Roof Funeral Home, 565 Franklin St. Clymer. John’s funeral service with be on Monday at 10 am at Christ our Savior Orthodox Church, Indiana with the Very Reverend Archpriest, George Mitchell. Interment will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Clymer.
