John D. Thacker

John D. Thacker, 70, of Clymer, PA passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was the son of B. Wayne and Evelyn (Bish) Thacker, born July 17, 1951, in Albion, NY.

John was an avid drag racer at the Keystone Race Way.  He loved to hunt and fish.  John worked for Penn Dot for over 30 years.  He proudly served in the United States Marine Corp. from 1968 to 1973 and, then the United States Navy from 1975 to 1979.  John loved to go to the Casinos with his wife and friends.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  John loved spending time with his family and all of his grandchildren.  He also loved playing with his best friend his dog Cam.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Michelle “Shelley” M. (Strotman) Thacker, five children, Rick Thacker, Lori Mason, Steven, Brian and Jason Thacker, one sister, Linda Lee and husband, Stanley, nine grandchildren, Jared Mason, Cody and Jamie Thacker, Vincent States, Payton Balogh, Haleigh Thacker, Jenna Thacker, Lyvia, Thacker, Landon Thacker, one great-granddaughter, Nylah and nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Wayne Thacker, one daughter-in-law, Brandy Fairman.

All services will be private for the family.  The McCabe~Roof Funeral Home, 565 Franklin St., Clymer is proudly assisting the Thacker family.  A celebration of life will be held on Johns birthday, July 17, 2022 at his home at 1 pm.
