He also worked for Season All Industries. Melvin is best known for his love of homesteading: growing, canning and freezing his own food, fixing up the house, and crafting various projects out of wood.  He enjoyed communing with nature whether playing horseshoes, hunting or fishing. He had the biggest heart for children and animals. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Clymer PA.

In addition to his parents, Melvin was preceded in death by his sister & brother-in-law Delores & Russell Lentz.  He is survived by the love and light of his life, his wife of 56 years, Annemarie Watson, nee Schatko; two sisters, Doris Jean MacCausland of Indiana, PA and Isabel R. Randall (Rich) of Lakeland FL, one brother, Stanley Watson (Donna) of St. Petersburg FL; one son, Richard C. Watson of Sarver, PA; two daughters, Melissa A. Watson of Willow Grove, PA and Amanda S. Anderson (Mark) of North Apollo, PA.  He is survived by his greatest pride and joy, his two precious grandchildren, Jaycee A. Bucher of Willow Grove, PA and Miles E. Anderson of North Apollo, PA.

Family and friends will be received at the McCabe-Roof Funeral Home, 565 Franklin St., Clymer PA from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm on Friday, April 5, 2019.  A funeral celebration of life will be held Saturday April 6, 2019 at 11am, with a visitation hour at 10am, at the Calvary Baptist Church, Clymer PA.  Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery, Indiana, PA.
