Paul Wolfe Obituary

Paul Wolfe, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, friend and golf enthusiast, passed away on September 28, 2021. Paul was born on September 17,1954 in Furstenfeldbruck, Germany. His family later moved to Pennsylvania where he graduated from Penns Manor High School in Clymer, PA in 1972. After graduation, he entered the US Air Force for 6 years from 1973 through 1978. While serving his country, he attended Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas where he received his B.A., in Finance and his Master of Business Administration. It was during his years in the military, that he married his wife, Angela Veltre Wolfe of Alverda, PA. The couple knew each other since 7th grade and married in 1974. They missed celebrating their Happy 47th Wedding Anniversary by 9 days. These years were full of laughter and fond memories of their many places visited where Paul recounted their travels in postcards to their only daughter, Jessica, of their adventures of climbing stairs like a Billy goat at the Acropolis in Greece to riding a Camel in Tunisia, Africa. These postcards are a treasured source of laughter and a reminder of his quick wit and humor. Paul began his career in finance in the US Air Force and continued on for 20 years as CFO/Controller/Senior Vice President of Finance & Administration for Alexander & Alexander-Central, Mid-West & Southern Regions, later known as AON. After leaving AON, he was employed as CFO/Senior Vice President of Client Relations at Specialized Association Services where he served on a number of Governing Board of Directors; Americans for Financial Security, Alliance for Affordable Services, National Association for the Self Employed and Treasurer of Affiliated Workers Association. He was also a member of the Financial Executives Institute-Dallas Chapter, American Society of Association Executives - Washington DC, Association for Financial Professionals-Bethesda, MD., Financial Executives Network Group (Strategic Planning)-World Wide Group and Independent Insurance Agents of Texas. Paul was a loving and devoted husband to his surviving wife, Angie of 47 years, father to their daughter, Jessica (Henry) Tso, and grandfather, "Happy," as he was known to his grandsons, Jasper and Junior Tso. Paul has a large extended family and was much loved and will forever be greatly missed by all, especially his brother-in-law, whom he considered his brother, Nick Veltre. They spent many nights enjoying John Wayne movies, and other Westerns such as Gunsmoke and Rawhide. He was preceded in death by his father; Paul Way Wolfe; mother, Gerda Matzner Wolfe; and his only brother, Charlie (Harold), all of Heilwood, PA. In his 67 years, Paul lived a full and meaningful life. He was best known for his generosity and kindness to all who knew him. Some family members referred to him as Mr. Santa Claus for his giving spirit. A diagnosis of Lewy Body Dementia was devastating but he never let it get to him until the final few months of his life. During this time, he managed to amass a great deal of golf and sports memorabilia to which Angie now has the task of researching to catalog and sell (or give away); his final attempt to keep her mind sharp by deciding just what to do with all these special treasures. A memorial service will be held on April 23rd, 2022 at the McCabe~Roof Funeral home in Clymer, PA at 11 am. Please feel free to bring you fondest memories of Paul and celebrate his life with family and friends.
