Robert E. Layton

Robert E. Layton, 58 of Commodore, PA., passed away on September 30. 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was the son of Roy and Carol (Boyer) Shank, born June 10, 1967 in Indiana, PA.

Robert loved family and friends, gardening, cars, music and the Steelers.  He will be greatly missed by all the knew him.

He is survived by father, his partner, William Engel, one sister, Dawn Johnson and husband Daniel, two step-sisters, Patricia Dressler and husband Mark, Melissa Yount and husband Mike, one niece, Destiny King and husband Ryan, one nephew, Austin Johnson, one great nephew, Gage (snug bug) King, aunts and uncles, Irene, Rosie, Mary Ann, Barbara, Honda and Gary.

Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Shank and three uncles, Sunny, Ricky and Ron.

Special thanks to the RNA nurses and Aunt Rose and all the lovely neighbors, Dan, Marge, Kathy and Ed who has helped all of us through this difficult time.  We so appreciate all the compassion and support.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, October 5, 2025 from 12 to 2 pm and 4 to 6 pm with his funeral service following at 6 pm with Paster Lori Parks.  Interment will be made in Church of the Resurrection Cemetery, Clymer.
