Ronald Wincek Obituary

Ronald Philip Wincek, 81, of Clymer passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by family on Friday, October 25, 2024.  The son of Elizabeth (Benamati) Wincek, he was born February 23, 1943.  

Known for his unwavering dedication to family, integrity, and hard work, Ron left a lasting legacy that touched the lives of many in his community.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Ron’s greatest accomplishment was the loving family he raised. His life was marked by a deep and abiding love for his family, which served as the cornerstone of all he did. His kindness, wisdom, and enduring loyalty to his loved ones will be remembered as a hallmark of his character.

Ron was the proud owner of Clymer Hardware and Clymer Beverage, where he served the community with the same steadfast principles that guided his life. In addition to his businesses, Ron was a skilled craftsman who built homes for family and friends, ensuring his legacy was physically embedded in the lives of those he held dear. His dedication to hard work, coupled with his natural generosity, endeared him to many and earned him a reputation as a man who would do whatever he could to lend a hand.

In his free time, Ron was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing, all passions he shared with family and friends which created lasting memories with those he loved. His winters were spent in Florida where he enjoyed relaxing days and cherished friendships.

Ron leaves behind a family who will forever cherish his memory and strive to carry forward the values he exemplified. His warmth, guidance, and unwavering support will be missed but will remain in the hearts of those he touched. His impact on the community and his family will be remembered as a testament to a life well-lived.

Ron was preceded in death by his first wife, Becky (Fearon) Wincek, his mother Elizabeth (Benamati) Wincek and her partner Melvin (Moddy) Ewing, and his brother John (Sonny) Wincek.

He is survived by his wife Debbie (Britsky) Wincek, children Randy Jo (Joseph) Bernat, John (Amy) Wincek, Tina (Doug) Rosenbaum, Cathy (Patrick) Hays, Rebecca (Kermit) Bateson, and step-children, Tina (Roger) Wood, Michael (Karin) McCracken, and Keith (Michele) McCracken.

Ron is also survived by grandchildren Jeremy Bernat, Jacob (Anna) Bernat, Katie (Jordan) Confer, Evan Wincek, Anthony Fennell, Jake, Hayden, Ty and Mylee Rosenbaum, Michaela, Hannah and Abby Hays, Wil & Lira Bateson, step-grandchildren Kori Wood, Mekenzie, Logan and Ashtynn McCracken, Seth and Lilly McCracken and great-granddaughter, Amelia Confer.

Friends will be received on Thursday, October 31, 2024, from 4pm to 8pm at the McCabe~Roof Funeral Home, 565 Franklin St., Clymer.  Ron’s funeral service will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024, at 10am at the funeral home with Pastor Sandra Peterman.  Interment will be private for the family in St. Bernard Cemetery, Indiana.
