Virginia Catherine (Gralak) Myers

Virginia Catherine (Gralak) Myers, 91 of Clymer, passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was the daughter of Stanley and Virginia (Benevich) Gralak, born October 22, 1926 in Force, PA. On August 21, 1948 she married Leroy Myers.

Virginia graduated from Indiana Hospital Training School for Nursing in 1947 and was employed by Indiana Hospital immediately following graduation. In 1967 she advanced her education by attending Allegheny Valley Hospital graduating in 1968 as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. Returning to Indiana Hospital and then retiring from Miner's Hospital Spangler in 1981.

After retiring she became a volunteer tutor for the Adult Literacy Program in Indiana. She also tutored students at St. Anthony's Catholic School in Clymer and many of her grandchildren. Virginia loved learning and enjoyed teaching others, especially children, encouraging them to do their best.

She and her husband, Leroy, enjoyed traveling across the United States in their camper. She also traveled to Mexico, Israel, and her ancestorial homeland Poland. While in Poland she was able to locate and visit with relatives.

She is survived by her five children, Susan Super and husband Anthony; Christopher L. Myers and wife Judy Beilchick; Beverly J. Filipovich and husband Francis (Flip); Daniel L. Myers and wife Linda Nibert; Alan L. Myers and wife Dana Rossman; nine grandchildren, Matthew, Jennifer, Chad, Eric, Stephen, Jessica, Christine, Adam and Paige; 16 great-grandchildren, Kayla, Christine, Abbigayle, Kathryn, Madeline, Abigail, Nathaniel, Caroline, Rylee, Sidney, Max, Christian, Charlotte, Michelle, Caitlin and Jayce; four sisters, Genevieve, Rita, Dorothy, and Yvonne and one brother, Stanley.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Leroy Myers; two sisters, Elizabeth and Irene; two brothers, Edward and Joseph.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the McCabe~Roof Funeral Home 565 Franklin St., Clymer, her funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. with Pastor Denny Marshal, officiating. Interment will be private.

She was a member of the Clymer United Methodist Church.
